The best way to understand what's required for a Professional Page is to observe the current author/illustrator pages on the website. (For self-published authors, please read our policy by clicking here.) The core elements for a web page are a photo, a bio (that you write), and a list of all of your books, both in print and out of print (a lot of collectors use our site to ensure complete collections). We will put up a link to your website and an e-mail address (let us know which e-mail address you'd prefer).

You may also provide speaking information, for which we'll create another linked page or we will link to that information on your own website.

Please note: because the educational publishing market is so prolific, we will list these books on your Professional Page. However, we will not include them in Forthcoming Books as CLN primarily reviews and talks about trade-published books. We do know that educators appreciate having information about your educational-market books, so we are pleased to list them on your Page, if you wish.

Here's an itemized list to help you gather the materials for your Professional Page. When you're ready to send them to us, click here.

1.

Book information:

Link to teaching guide for this book on your website

Awards

We will request book cover images if we have trouble finding them.

We also include your new releases on the Forthcoming Books Page which is one of CLN’s most frequently visited pages. Please provide this information three to four months in advance or as soon as you know the publication date. We will store the information in our database.

2.

Digital photo, head shot, at least 180 px wide

3.

Bio: two or three paragraphs

4.

Website link: if you have your own website we can include a link to it.

5.

E-mail address: do you have an e-mail address that you'd like us to post?

6.

Speaking/school visit information. Please take a look at Ron Hirschi’s page and Marie Myung-Ok Lee’s page for examples.

Please consider sending us the following information:

1.

Birthday: If you're willing to share your birthdate (not birth year), we'll post a bio in our Birthday Bios. These are arranged by month, and alphabetically, and are used by teachers to prepare bulletin boards and author research assignments. The search feature on the website will bring up your birthday bio in addition to your Professional Page.

2.

Keep us up-to-date on awards, new printings, and honors. We'll feature those in the CLN Member News.

3.

Let us know about your public events (bookstores, conferences, festivals, presentations). We'll post them in the event pages where appropriate.
4. Send us photos! Anything book-related, you and your books, or a place you've visited on your travels. We'll feature these photos on the home page and make a link to your CLN page.
