Lise Lunge-Larsen Race of the Birkebeiners
Legend of the Lady Slipper Noah's Mittens
Lise Lunge-Larsen, who celebrates her birthday on October 15th, was born and raised in Norway. She grew up in a house filled with books—her father was an antiquarian book dealer. Lise received the Crown Prince Harald Scholarship, which enabled her to attend Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She took a job in the children's library while at college, and promptly became fascinated by the world of children's literature. Lise received her master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and she also discovered that she loved the avocation of storyteller. She married her college sweetheart and moved to Duluth, Minnesota, where she and her husband raised two boys and a girl. She continues her fascination with storytelling, sometimes writing her stories down, but more often telling them aloud to enthralled audiences.
