Beverly Cleary Henry Huggins

Edna Arleen Anderson, born on April 12th, 1914 grew up on a farm in South Dakota. She was a very bright child and attended college at the age of sixteen to become a teacher. Edna graduated and recieved her first teaching job at the age of eighteen.

In the 1960s, Edna wrote and published four books for children, The Extra Egg, Mac The Firefighter, Snowshoe, and Icebound Treasure, as well as several educational textbooks and teachers' guides.

Edna went back to school and recieved her doctrate in educational administration. Before retiring, Edna became a school district superintendent in northern Minnesota.
